YOUR PROPERTY FOR SALE

Exterior of Property

• All buildings & trim painted.
• Windows caulked, painted and washed.
• Decks, steps, railings in good shape.
• Attach railings to all steps that have more than three steps.
• Make front entrance as appealing and inviting as possible and properly lighted.

Interior of Home

• Get rid of clutter in all rooms including cellar, attic and garage.
• Clean out closets. They should not be overstuffed.
• Make your rooms appear as large and homey as possible.
• Clean - particularly windows - woodwork around doors and windows - shampoo rugs and wax/buff hardwood floors.
• Cosmetic work - make sure trim around doors and windows is painted and fresh looking. If walls are in need of a facelift, clean, paint or wallpaper.
• Keep kitchen and bathrooms as spotless as possible. Try to keep as few items as possible on countertops. Fresh towels and face cloths are nice.
• If bathrooms do not have a window, an exhaust fan may have to be installed.

Preparing for Showing

• Again make sure your house is as pleasant and clean and inviting as possible. Please clean wastebaskets and carry out garbage in plastic enclosed bags.
• Turn the lights on in all rooms.
• Light a few candles especially if you have animal odors. Clean the cats litter box. Restrain family pets.
• If time allows have brownies or bread baking in the oven. If you have a working fireplace, a fire would be very inviting.
